TLC in the PARK - 19th June 2010
Our annual family event TLC in the PARK took place on 19th June and was a resounding success. With more runners this year the level of sponsorship rose resulting in an increase in overall donations to the charity. Apart from the runners and walkers there were plenty of people to keep the stalls and games busy.
We would like to thank Abbey Park for supporting us once again and also our volunteers who stalwartly manned the stalls.

The TLC Summer Luncheon - 15th June 2010
The decision to hold a Summer version of the TLC lunch was vindicated with a superb turn out. As usual the food at the Aylestone Restaurant was amazing and the service outstanding. This event was held in partnership with Councilor Michael Mayor of Oadby and Wigston who has chosen TLC as his charity for the term of his office. He attended personally and gave an entertaining and informative address. Look out for the Winter Luncheon as places will be limited and will sell very fast. Click here for pictures of the day. |

Alison Clarke (Governor HM Prison Leicester) was the speaker at this years event and intrigued the audience with some of the facts she shared. As usual the event was a big success with everyone enjoying the food, the company and the entertainment. At the last count it looks as though the lunch brought The Laura Centre around £1000 in profit so a big thank you to all those who attended and especially to the support of the college and the students. |

Pob's Trophy - Sunday August 2nd 2009
The annual football competition yet again benefitted from fantastic weather and some great football. This year it was bigger than ever with more stalls and the day was made special by the appearance of former LCFC start Matt Piper. There was an emotional moment when, just before the final, 5 white doves were released commemorating the five years since Linden, in whose name the event is held, died. Figures are not available yet ut there are some great photos of the day at:

Mega Read week is now over but it will be quite some time before
we have an idea of how much the event has raised. In the meantime

organisations and individuals for supporting us. We will publish
information as and when we have it on this page so make sure

This was a tremendous success even though the weather was
foul. Of the 10 intrepid climbers that started we are pleased
to announce that 7 of them made the summit. The day was wet,
cold and miserable so anyone that even started deserves a
massive pat on the back and a big WELL DONE!
Sorry but we still cannot give you a final total as the money
is still rolling in. We can tell you however that it is thousands
and not hundreds. As soon as we have the figure we will publish
it on this page. |
 |
| Unfortunately the parks staff were forced to cancel this
event. They left it until 5pm the day before but a ground inspection
confirmed their fears that it was unsuitable for the event. |

Pobs Trophy
This was the 5th annual charity football tournament
taking place, as usual, at Huncote Sports and Social Club. This
years event was sponsored by NEXT and LCFC as well as a host
of other local businesses and individuals and Filbert Fox paid
a visit as well as the Everyclick Mouse. The standard of the
football was higher than ever and the increased number of stalls
made it a real family day out. The organisors will not have
a final total for a few weeks but it looks as though TLC could
be getting in excess of £2000. For pictures of the event
and all of the scores visit Pob's
Trophy web site. |

Love Parks Day
We all had a great day out at Abbey Park for their
"Love Parks Love Life" event. The day started with
a fantastic response to our sponsored walk and, once we have
all of the sponsorship money in we will let you all know how
much you raised. Following this our volunteers helped with the
final planting of The Laura Centre garden. This is a beautiful
quiet spot where you can sit and reflect amongst the beautiful
roses. Check out the pic' of the empty plant pots to see how
many they planted. Whilst all of this was going on we were also
in the Multi Agency marquee where we were spreading the word
about The Laura Centre. A great big thank you to all who helped
and supported us on that day. Click on the picture to see a
few photos from the day. |

photograph we can supply an 8" x 10" print for the
reasonable cost of £6.00 which includes postage and
packing. If you would like to place an order all we need is

It really is a simple way of supporting your favourite charity
but to help you we have prepared a pdf document which you
